Tutorial- Easy Way To Cut Tulle

If you have ever made a tutu you know it is *sorta* a pain in the neck to cut all the tulle into strips.

I buy my tulle on the roll, so it is already the right width, I just need to cut the length.

I am going to show you a quick and easy way to cut your whole roll of tulle in equal lengths in under 5 minutes! {more like 3 minutes!}

Materials Needed:

Cookie sheet
Roll of Tulle
Sharp Scissors

What you are going to do is just wrap your tulle around the cookie sheet

Just wrap and wrap and wrap until the whole roll is on your cookie sheet.

Then take your sharp scissors and cut along one side

Take the tulle off and you now have all equal lengths of tulle strips!

SO easy!!

I was cutting mine to make this Tutu Bow Holder

Gorgeous, isn't it? I love it. Love the yellow. Love the flower print. I just love the whole thing!

This one isn't listed in my Etsy Store right now, but it is for sale! Email me if you are interested! I can also make these in custom colors, just contact me and I will work with you to create this gorgeous bow holder in the colors of your choice!

I hope this tip helps save you some time next time you are cutting tulle!  And use your imagination! You don't have to just use a cookie sheet. You can use anything! I have used frames before because I didn't need it as long. Even a piece of cardboard would work!

Personalized Wood Plaque Bow Holders

Its Monday, how did that happen?!?

Like always, the weekends go by way too fast!

My weekend was spent making some custom bow holders a friend ordered!

{I have posted about this type of bow holder before HERE and HERE}

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this one turned out. Seriously, L.O.V.E.  The picture does not do it justice! {probably due to my sucky lack of photography skills! Shhh}

The paper is so pretty and glittery and just amazing. I loved it so much I went out and bought the store out of this design {and this was the pricey paper- $1.99 a sheet! But seriously, so cute it is worth it!}

See- you can *kinda* see the glitter in this picture

And then of course the matching hanging ribbons to clip all those cute bows on!

This order was for twins, but she didn't want them matchy-matchy.  The second one she wanted in the colors of pink and cream with some green.

I think I hit her color request right on the head! This is just so sweet!!

I also made a bunch of bows to go with these holders!

I hope they like them!!!

** I will be adding both of these holders to my Etsy store soon! {custom made with your name of course!} If you would like one make sure to check it out! {you can always contact me through here as well if you would like one!}

So how did you spend your weekend?

Simple Wood Plaque Bow Holder

My good friend recently just got her first Cricut! Before she did though, she used to come to me to help her out! :)

The other day she came over and while she held my baby {Because apparently it is torture for her to actually sit and play on her own. lol} I made her little girl this!

Isn't it cute? SO easy too! I just took one of those simple wood plaque things {not sure exactly what they are called} from Michael's and painted the edges. Once it was dry I Mod Podged on some scrapbook paper and her name. I cut the butterfly and her name with my Cricut {Butterfly from the Once Upon A Princess cartridge and for the name I used the Alphalicious cartridge}

I then used E6000 glue to attach the hanging ribbons at the top and bottom.  I also attached a little bow to the corner~ because everything is cuter with a little bow! :)

She was happy with how it came out and so was I!

Plus I got to spend the night laughing with a good friend while we crafted and watched the kiddos play- a perfect night in my book! :)

Tutu Bow Holders and More...

Having little girls in the house means one thing- LOTS of bows!!! Especially since I make all their hair accessories! I tend to make a bow to match each outfit. I am crazy. I know. :)

And all those bows need a place to hang, right? You don't want them just thrown into a drawer; you want to proudly display them!

These are examples of a couple types of bow holders. These were gifts for some friends of mine. (But have no fear; my girls have their own bow holders too!)

I love this one. So girly! A tutu bow holder! Perfect for every little princess!

And since newborns don’t have much hair, most of the hair accessories are headbands. So I made loops that attach with Velcro at the bottom to hold the headbands! Perfect!

Another type of bow holder I love to make is a wood plaque one. These can be made to match practically any bedding. My older daughter has one like this with lady bugs and dragon flies to match her bedding! This one was also a gift for a friend.

Gotta and some sparkle :)

And again I made loops on the bottom to hold the headbands. Here are said loops in action!
