Fall Wreath

I'm not going to lie, the balloon wreath from my daughters first birthday party is still hanging in my house.

I realized it is time to take it down and move on.

My baby is one, the party is over, boo hoo.

I was torn on whether to make a fall wreath or a Halloween wreath. I feel like it is a little early for either one, but decided to go with a fall wreath.

I took the girls to Joann's this morning and came home with these goodies

The leaves and berry things were all 50% off so they were only 99 cents each! Score!

I just used hot glue to attach the leaves to my straw wreath.  I attached them randomly, just trying to make sure all the holes were covered.

 Once I had all the leaves attached I stuck in the berry twigs and added a giant red raffia bow.

I ended up only using 2 of the leaf packets and 4 of the berry twigs ( I bought 6) so this wreath only cost me $10 to make!!!!

I have to say, for 10 bucks I really LOVE how it turned out!

Birthday Balloon Wreath

I am in party planning mode now since my little one turns one next month!

I think I have been in denial that she is actually turning ONE and I have been slacking on her party planning!

So this past weekend I finally got my butt in gear and started making things!

The first thing I made was a wreath! I saw this balloon wreath on How Does She and knew I wanted to make one!

I followed their tutorial and made mine the same way. I ended up using way more balloons though- 250! Mine is very full and HEAVY!

I also took some pipe cleaners, wrapped them around a pen to curl them and stuck some of those in there! I love the way they look!

I am so happy with the way it turned out! I think it will be perfect on the front door!

I am planning on getting a wood "1" to hang in the middle as well!

And doing this wreath really got me back into the party planning mode! I am anxious to complete more projects now!!!

Red White and Blue Patriotic Wreath

Like I have said before- this year my goal is to make a wreath for each holiday and/or season!

So far so good!

Now it was time to take down the Spring Wreath and put up a new one!

Red White and Blue!

This wreath is perfect for Memorial Day and I will be keeping it up through the 4th of July!

I made some fabric flowers with blue and red fabric and added a button center. I LOVE how they turned out!

I attached them by hot glueing a straight pin to the back of each flower and then just sticking them into the foam wreath!

Last week I showed you had to make Fabric Flowers with round petals HERE, this week I will show you how to make the pointy flowers that I used on this wreath! So check for that later this week!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Spring Wreath Re-Do

I did it. I took the eggs off.

I tried and tried to like them {because glitter eggs are cool}, but nope. They just weren't working for me.

Here is how it looks now. And I must say, I like it SO much better! {HERE is it with the eggs in case you missed it}

Much better, huh?

Spring Wreath

Finished my Spring Wreath!

{On my to-do list this year is a wreath for every holiday!}

I had initially intended on covering the whole thing with rolled flowers, but then I got lazy changed my mind.

I love the bright colors of the flowers, but I am not sold yet on the eggs. I might taken them off, I can't decide.

What do you think? Should the eggs stay or go? Hmmm.....

St Patty's Day Wreath

Finally got my St. Patty's Day wreath done! YAY!

Here is what I used {minus the felt. Forgot to put the felt in the picture}

The horse shoe I found at Michaels by all the wood appliques. It was .25!

I wrapped the wreath with the yarn.  On my other yarn wreath I used a thin yarn and I had to wrap it twice to get the whole thing covered and not have anything show through.  This time I used a thicker yarn and I only had to wrap it once! So much easier!

I painted the horse shoe gold of course and added felt flowers! I stuck each flower to the wreath with a pearl topped straight pin!

It's a pretty simple wreath, but I love how it turned out!

Diaper Wreaths

Since I shared my bow holders yesterday, I figured I should just carry on the baby gift theme in today’s post. When I go to baby showers I like to buy one essential off the registry, and then hand make a few gifts for the mom-to-be and baby. I will usually package it all up in a cute basket that can also be used for storage in the baby's room. If I know the nursery colors it makes it easy to find something that will look good out on display.

Most of the showers I attend (and last year alone I went to 4 in a 3 month span!) have the diaper raffle game. Bring a pack of diapers, get a raffle ticket. Pretty simple. But a package of diapers is just so boring not that appealing. So I like to spruce up the diapers and make them into something. I was on a diaper cake kick a couple years ago, but I wanted something different. So I decided to make a wreath with the diapers! Still gives the mom a ton of diapers and it is much cuter than just a plain pack of diapers! I add on a few essentials like socks, wash cloths, mini soaps and lotions. Fun and easy! It is always a hit!

See these roses? Those are baby socks rolled up!

This shower was a double shower for sisters so I made them each a wreath with their nursery colors. I just added a little wood letter in the baby's initial and painted it in the nursery colors and hung it in the center. (And yes, these moms were the recipients of the bow holders from the previous post! See the color theme carried throughout each gift?)

Simple and adorable.

Pinkalicious Wreath!

Party planning is in full swing at my house right now. My daughter is turning 3 next month and her party is only a few weeks away! (Eek! I don't like reminders on how close it is getting!) She wanted a pink princess party this year. Since her first birthday party was also princess theme, I am focusing more on the pink aspect of it. She doesn't like TV so she really doesn't know who the Princesses are, so it works out just fine! I saw this wreath and knew I had to make one!

It is a pretty simple wreath to make, but OMG it took forever wrapping that yarn around!! It was tedious, but I just LOVE how this turned out! I still want to add a '3' to it, just haven't decided where yet. What do you think?
